Parenting Unplugged is the flagship program of the Pagatim.fm.

I deeply believe that parenting is a journey whether we like it or not.  We can choose to be intentional and conscious as we move along our parenting path or we can choose to be unconscious.  I choose intentional.  That being said, I am also human and I make mistakes.  I don’t always do this parenting thing well or consciously.  But, the important thing is that I try.  And when I screw up, I TRY to forgive myself.  I emphasize TRY because I am usually tougher on myself than I am on others (OK, maybe not parents that smoke with the windows up, but other than that I try not to judge.).

I am intrigued with why we do the things we do and what can we do about them? Sure, it would be great to snap our fingers and change, but it takes more than that.  That is much clearer to me now that I have children. I can always say the right thing, but it’s doing the right thing that makes something good happen. That slight change in philosophy is what led me to create Parenting Unplugged with Todd.

We get one shot at life and then we are done, so what we do with it is the important part. For me, this life is about making a difference in the world.  Following my dreams so maybe someone else isn’t afraid to follow theirs.  I want to do something different and something powerful.

This show gives me a chance to be honest and connect with all of you in a way that I believe can make a difference. I feel blessed to be doing something that I love and all the while working to become a better, more self-aware, intentional parent, wife and human being.

Nuts & Bolts: Laura has admitted on air that she is a little bit of control freak, but she didn’t tell you that she co-founded Little Voice Productions, a Denver based non-profit, that educates and invokes positive social change through media and technology. She is an adjunct professor at Portland State University and was a nonprofit consultant for many years.  She also forgot to mention that her dream is to travel the world with her family and then settle down in a completely green home surrounded by an edible garden.  She is currently the Chief Executive and Visioning Officer for Two Kids and a Dog Productions the production company that produces Pagatim.fm and Parenting Unplugged Radio.
