We’re looking for a person who can take charge of marketing our radio programs using all digital channels available.  This will also serve as a wonderful learning opportunity, as you will have great exposure from SEM/SEO experts who will be consulting the company and guiding us through a proven process.  You will gain relevant experience in helping to create a web marketing plan and take the lead on implementing it too.

Your efforts will tie directly into our revenue model, which hinges on the quality and quantity of our listenership and site visitors.  Therefore, the ideal candidate will have had experience with one or more of the following areas of online marketing:

  • Digital Marketing - e-mail marketing, social media optimization, web analytics, cost per impression;
  • Affiliate Marketing - cost per action, contextual advertising, revenue sharing;
  • Search engine Marketing - search engine optimization, pay per click advertising, paid inclusion, search analytics, and mobile advertising.

About Us
Parenting Unplugged Radio was launched from Two Kids and a Dog Productions, LLC in February 2009. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon and hosted by PDX.fm, Parenting Unplugged began with live Internet radio shows and podcasts focused on progressive and conscientious parenting. Seasoned broadcasters, husband and wife team, parents of two young boys and founders – Todd and Laura Mansfield, host this unique show. In just four short months, one show a week expanded to five. And the program also diversified with Dad’s Unplugged, hosted by two dads from very different backgrounds, Todd Mansfield and Kent Lewis; and Single and Unplugged hosted by two single moms, from all walks of life, who intentionally co-parent with their ex-husbands.

  • Reaches 490,000 per month– 66% live listeners; 33% downloaded.
  • Has listeners from the United States, British Columbia, China, Chile, Australia, the UK and New Zealand as well as a large local audience in Portland and Seattle
  • Was named one of iTunes “New and Notable Kids and Family Shows” on two separate occasions
  • Listed Top 15 most influential tweeters on twitter in regards to parenting

Experience/Skills required* and desired:

  • Writing and editing web content and interview transcripts*
  • A designer’s eye to choose photo images to capture a show’s theme for the day*
  • Tagging content and web copy writing*
  • Ability to leverage social media (fan pages and followers) to increase listenership and web traffic*
  • Proficient with Word Press as the web platform
  • Uploading and downloading audio files from/to FTP site to website
  • Familiarity with audio and video streaming technology
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Email marketing apps (Constant Contact, Chimp Mail, Benchmark Email, etc.),Salesforce or any CRM apps that help maintain a database
  • Drafting and/or implementing a Search Engine Marketing or Digitial Marketing Plan.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and creating a baseline of indicators that your marketing efforts will increase.
  • Measuring your efficacy against these indicators
  • Working under the direction of Director of Programming and also reporting your progress (and challenges) to the General Manager.
  • Managing social media accounts
  • Producing email newsletters using email marketing software
  • Managing our website properties– both quality of content and effectiveness of conversion

Compensation:  We are an early stage start up with pending investment from first round of finance closing by end of year. Those coming into the ground floor and building up the company will be rewarded with an ownership stake.  This is a limited-time opportunity.
