Suicide is not an easy topic to tackle, nor is depression, but it is often the elephant in the room. Dr. Nancy Rappaport penned the book, “In Her Wake: A Child Psychiatrist Explores the Mystery of Her Mother’s Suicide” and opened the eyes of many. The assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School shared what to look for in suicidal teens, how to move forward if it were to occur and shared her own personal stories from her childhood, when her mother took her own life. It’s a moving interview, but we really hope it’s helpful.
